The holidays are up and it’s back to reality for many. You’ve done you Merry Christmas and Happy New year thing and we sure your pocket has taken a massive beating much like what Kunta Kinte and the slaves in 19th century America had to endure. Yo, but we know you can’t stop drinking, bruv. Here are 3 easy on the pocket January cocktail recipes you can rock on with this month. As always, we got you.
- RUM AND COKE
This highball cocktail also commonly known as a Cuba Libre consists of Coca-Cola, Lime juice and any dark rum of your choice. Try to keep things at a 3:1 ratio. Pour about 35ml/2 shots of your dark rum into a Collins glass that has about two to three ice cubes. Top the drink off with Coca-Cola then add a slice of lemon to garnish. Stir thoroughly. This classic Cuban drink is perfect for every occasion
- THE SCREWDRIVER
This also happens to be a highball glass cocktail as well but can be taken anyhow you please though. It’s basically a mix of high-quality orange juice and a vodka of your choice accompanied with a lot of ice. It gets its famous name from the tool that was originally used to stir the drink- a screwdriver. Mix 2-3 shots of vodka (however, this depends on how H.A.M you want to go) and orange juice into a highball glass then add ice. Add a slice of orange to garnish and begin to enjoy. Easy peasy, bruv.
- KENYAN BLACK MAMBA
Last on our list is quite popular in the Kenyan rave and nightlife culture. Many drink this mixture but don’t really know it has a name. This drinks main ingredients are Smirnoff Vodka (and, my guy, with this one you just have to use Smirff), tonic water and Coca-Cola. Yes, that simple blend is what is known as a Black Mamba. Mix 2-3 shots of Smirnoff Vodka, tonic water, and Coke into a glass then add ice. Garnish with a slice of lemon/lime.
And there you have it, bro. The lousy “Njaanuary” routine doesn’t have to mess up with you drinking program too much. Life goes on, no?
Godspeed in 2018, my guys. Peace.
