One thing about this wonderful Italian egg dish is that there’s really no such thing as a set recipe as such. It’s mostly all about what you like eating and what you’d like to incorporate into your eggs. This dish allows everyone to kind of have their own personal take and spin on it, however, there are some basic things involved that every frittata should have.
This easy frittata recipe is perfect for brunch and a fantastic way to show off and impress some few guests here and there. It doesn’t really take much preparation and is done in a heartbeat. However, this happens to be a very versatile meal and can be had for breakfast, lunch and even dinner. Here’s our take on an easy frittata.
For one that serves 4, the ingredients are as follows:-
- Eight eggs
- One whole onion, diced
- Three spiced sausages of your choice
- Freshly chopped parsley and coriander
- Grated cheese
- One chopped green bell pepper
- Two slices of bread, crumbled
- One glass whole milk (adding a little cream will help things a lot)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Heat your pan then add about three spoons of oil. Add your diced onions and chopped bell peppers to the pan and fry until slightly brown. Next, take your spiced sausages, remove them from their casing and crumbled the sausage meat into the pan and fry them alongside the onions and bell peppers. Make sure to not let anything burn.
Now for the rest of the ingredients. Get a bowl and beat your eggs. Add your parsley, coriander, grated cheese, whole milk, crumbled bread slices, salt and pepper to taste and whisk away some more until fully incorporated. Once done, add the eggs into the pan with the sausage, bell peppers and onions, mix them together for about a minute then transfer it into an oven-friendly item and bake it for about 3-4 minutes and voila. A simple and easy frittata perfect for brunch.
